Social-media crawlers do not run JavaScript, so these tags must be in the served HTML — not added by a script after the page loads. That is the single most common reason a shared link shows no image.

Changed a page that is already shared? Facebook and WhatsApp cache what they first read. Re-scrape it at developers.facebook.com/tools/debug, and on LinkedIn at post-inspector.
